Winner: Ruth Money
Ruth is an excellent role model for Newark Swimming Club. She combines her own swimming training, alongside teaching, officiating at the club championships and also at galas on Saturday nights held across Nottinghamshire.
Feedback from the swimmers and parents is always very positive. Since September 2014 she has completed over 100 hours.
This year she has begun mentoring parents to become swimming teachers at the club as well as mentoring younger swimmers who volunteer at the club.
In October 2014, Ruth joined the Club Committee as swimmers representative and actively got involved in the committee, putting forward her opinions and ideas about how the club should be run in the future and organising events such as the Club 80th Birthday party.
She is heavily involved with the social media for the club, posting photos and comments to support the “This Girl Can” campaign. This is all on top of studying for her A levels therefore she is an excellent role model for the club.
Ruth received her award from Pam and Michael White.
