We have recently been visited by Mr Robert Ellis (he used to sweep our chimneys). Robert came to discuss an annual event he and his wife take part in and help organise, it’s called the Dave Lewis Challenge. The Dave Lewis Challenge is held annually to commemorate the life of Dave who was a dedicated Newark athlete and coach. Dave’s widow Janet approves the charities who benefit from monies raised from this event, we are very lucky and proud to say that the Legacy has been chosen as one for this year.
The event will be held on the 20th October 2018, there are two races one is over the distance of 11.5 miles and the other is over 27.5 miles. These distances can be run or walked, the courses are multi- terrain over undulating landscape in and around the Trent Valley Way and Kelham Hills area to the north and west of Newark.
So if you are looking for a fitness challenge this year and would like to help raise money for the Legacy, then please consider this and give it a go. More information and an entry form can be found by going to:
www.newarkathletics.co.uk, tap on events, tap on the Dave Lewis Challenge which will then take you to the entry form.
We are reliably informed that this is a good, fun and well organised event. So keep fit, raise money and Pam and I will see you all on the day :-).
