MEP for the East Midlands, Glenis Willmott addressed the SIOPE-ENCCA Conference 2014, which took place on 18- 19 September 2014 in Brussels.

There, SIOPE and the European paediatric haematology community, along with parents, patients and survivors, joined their forces to create a brighter future for all children and adolescents with cancer, successfully committing to jointly work on a ‘European Paediatric Cancer Plan’, to increase both the cure rate and the quality of cure over the next decade. The SIOPE-ENCCA Conference – which inscribes itself in the current month of September, ‘Childhood Cancer Awareness Month’ – has been the first step to make this objective a reality, and we will make sure to effectively pursue this aim in the future.
